Unfortunately since Newspaper v9.7 the api plugin cannot be used anymore, sorry! it has been replaced by a new plugin

You could use this plugin from now on. Or experiment with flex blocks, maybe what it used to be possible only with the api plugin, it is now possible with flex blocks and grids
