When loading one of our sites, fcnews.net we get an alert box for Xss-Checker. When switching the theme to something else, the alert does not happen. I’m not sure if this is a built in security checker, or something else, but it just came on out of no where and I don’t know where to locate it.
Hello!
Follow this guide to clean your WordPress and theme of malware: https://askwpgirl.com/10-steps-remove-malware-wordpress-site/
Thank you!
Thank you, I’ve used the plugin suggested to clean the malware, however, I’m still seeing the XSS-Checker alert. Any idea where this could be coming from?
Check your index.php and the wp-blog-header for a malware code. You can compare the file you have in your installation with a clean file from the wordpress download. To remore malware just change the content to the clean file
I did not. I was able to clean up the malware in the site but I’m still getting the XSS-Checker alert.
Hello @floorforce !
Make sure you do not use an extra plugin, which is not tested with the theme.
Thank you!
What do you mean by an extra plugin? I’m not using any plugins that would interfere with the theme. Is this coded into the theme? When I change themes, I don’t get the alert. Do you know if this is some security measure in the code, and where would I be able to find it? I’ve been looking, but I need help finding where the source of it could be coming from.
I just need my question answered, our time does not line up and getting 1 response a day isn’t working out. This is a paying client of ours that we could potentially lose over this issue that is associated with your theme.
Hello @floorforce !
We shouldn’t have anything like that. Only if any file from our theme gets infected.
I’m sorry, but we try to reply as fast as we can.
