Getting started from demo best practises

Hi. I’m wondering the best way to build out a new site after importing a demo. I’ve imported a demo site including content into a completely clean, new WordPress site running Newspaper 8.7, and I’m happy with the demo’s look and feel and menus. Now I want to use all those settings for my site. What is the best way forward?

Do I just start adding my content posts to the demo, deleting the demo’s posts as I go? Do I uninstall the demo to delete its content, then re-install without content, then start adding my content? Or do I study the demo like it’s a blueprint, and build my site from scratch to replicated the demo?

I’m brand-new to Newspaper, medium skilled at WordPress, and want to get off on the best possible foot with the theme. Thanks.

Thanks for pointing me at that other forum topic, Simion, you’re right that it’s got much of what I’m wondering about. But there’s one thing I don’t understand even after reading it. Should I be building off the demo site with content or without content?

I’m guessing without. But the poster in that other topic used with, so I just want to be clear. Thanks.

Installing a demo with content will provide the homepage structure, without content you will have to build the homepage. You could install the demo without content and use the homepage from the demo folders. Example

Then edit the page with the tagDiv composer and configure the grids and blocks to display the posts you want.
