I have recently had a plugin (The Events Calendar Pro) adapted for my personal specifications. When I add a widgetised sidebar of the calendar or a tailor made events listing to a new or existing page. All the ads disappear from my page when I preview or go to the live page. They are there in the page layout and they still work on other pages but the addition of either of these two items seems to corrupt the ad widgets. Is this a known cause? Should I contact my developer with anything specific to look out for?

Could be a conflict which appears the moment you add the widgets. You can check in the browser inspector console, if there are any errors they will appear there.
We haven’t made any tests with the plugin you mention, I can’t say why this happens unfortunately.
