Google Adsense has stopped displaying on Header

Hi,

We’re currently running V3.8.4 of Newspaper, and Google Adsense Ads are no longer displaying in the header. They have been up until recently and there have been no changes made to the Google Adsense code in the theme setup.

Any clues?

Likely an issue with Google; theme doesn’t control loading of the ads; only places the code on the page. Usually such outtages clear up over time. And sometimes their system just times out.

Issues seem to happen end/first of month, when Google starts messing with their universe 🙂

You can also check your account to see if any messages about your site, such as violation of anything, although they usually email you about that.

Hi Guys,

Apologies for the delayed response to this.

For whatever reason, i changed the code from asynchronous to synchronous and they now display. Even though they have been working all year with the asynchronous code…

Hi,

This could be due to the asynchronous because when loading other scripts the ads js conflicts with other scripts and cause issues as when synchronous is used the scripts rendered at a time and this issue doesn’t appear.
You could also make sure that you have added the asynchronous code right: https://support.google.com/adsense/answer/3221666?hl=en
