Will pasting a google analytics code into theme panel option place tracking on every page/post/etc. on the site?

Also, where is the best place to insert google webmaster verification code?

Yes to Q 1.

For Q 2:
Either in YOAST SEO, in header.php file, or use the HTML download option to put a verification file in the root of your site (this way if theme, plugin, whatever go kabooky you don’t have to redo it).

Note – fyi, if you lose or break the verification code on your site; you can always go back to Google and get it again as the code does not change — it’s a numeric value calculated based on your website domain name.

Hi mrzellars,

You can use Google Analytics (and Tag Manager) to verify your site ownership on Google Search Console. No Search Console verification code needed.

The procedures are as follow:
Step 1: Go to “Newspaper – Theme panel”.
Step 2: Scroll down to Analytics, add the tracking code and press save button. This will add the tracking code directly into the HTML of every page of your website. No plugins needed.
Step 3: Go to Google Search Console and click Add a site. Enter the URL of your site.
Step 4: Select Google Analytics and click Verify. Viola! You have successfully verified site ownership on Google Search Console.

For any readers unaware: Google has rebranded Webmaster Tools as Search Console, they want to reach out to more users who care about search marketing, not just webmasters. You can find out more information over at the official Google Webmaster Central blog. Blog post: http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.co.uk/2015/05/announcing-google-search-console-new.html
