Hi,
unfortunately I got an expensive letter from a lawyer regarding Google Fonts (waited too long). So I have to take immediate action.
I’ve seen some recommendations but some seem dated. What’s the best practice to get rid of Google fonts (plus greedy lawyers) and to keep the design shiny and the website fast? Is it recommended to use a commercial plugin like OMGF or Automatic Google Fonts Embedder? Or is this not necessary?
I don’t want to mess around with any code-solutions so in a perfect world theme panel-adjustments or a plug-in could do it.

Normally, fi the fonts are part of google fonts you should not have problems.
Our theme provide some options to remove the google fonts and al have the possibility to use local fonts -> https://i.imgur.com/30U4cQv.png -> https://i.imgur.com/p6mPDmN.png

Thanks, Calin. What you’re actually saying is that there is no need for an extra plug-in, correct? So I disable Google Fonts (plus mobile) with the buttons and there will be no transfers to Google, right? Do I have to upload Open Sans and Robot additionally or not (I just work with default fonts)?

Hi Odufroehliche,
You get it right, the theme panel options are made to can disable the Google fonts, so those will no longer be loaded on your website.
If the option for the default fonts is enabled, then those can be used because are loaded manually in the theme files, or if you like another stile you can upload it in .woff format.

Be carefull. If you use plugins other than Tag Div’s, they might also load Google Fonts from their server.
