Hi All!
I am building a custom plugin in Newspaper 8 and am having an issue with google maps. It is loading only a blank box with a couple of the map elements, but never gets farther than that. I’m using the Javascript V3 API. I have tried the simplest version, re-arranging code and reference placement, even putting the javascript and reference right in the header or footer, generating new API keys, etc… Nothing has helped.
I’m wondering if anyone has advice, or if there is some kind of conflict with the theme (like another common API reference that is getting in the way?). Anything would be helpful at this point.

I tried switching themes and using a really basic template and it worked. So I switched back and started removing the article classes generated by the theme. Found the one which was causing the problem.
php– echo join(‘ ‘, get_post_class()); –php
Once I removed this class the map loaded just fine. Hopefully this will help someone else out.
