Hi,
I want google advertising on my site and it appears to me (wordpress noob) that the Review Template doesn’t include the Review and Offers fields which the Google Search Engine is looking for. How are these added and I guess if Google wants them preferentially why aren’t they part of the review template in Newspaper (or are they there but I can’t find them)?
Google test URL – Does your page support rich restults: https://search.google.com/test/rich-results
Example URL to (see the message I am talking about) put in search box: https://technicalrpg.com/review-out-of-the-box-encounters-by-nerdarchy/
Thanks for the help

Hi,
I just checked your one of your reviews posts and this is displaying in google search results -> https://i.imgur.com/pFZvZSg.png also the results for the test -> https://i.imgur.com/k4aEBs5.png -> https://search.google.com/test/rich-results?id=biQgSHZxZK4JQcrLyEXzpQ
If this is not what you mean, please let me now!
Thank you!
Hi,
Thanks for looking. If you scroll down a little https://search.google.com/test/rich-results?id=biQgSHZxZK4JQcrLyEXzpQ to Products you will see two orange warnings – then open it up to see the fields google has not been happy with when it comes to setting up Adwords.
Google would send this messages about setting up Adwords: “Thank you for your interest in Google AdSense. Unfortunately, after reviewing your application, we’re unable to accept you into AdSense at this time.
To see the reasons why we did not approve your application, visit google.com/adsense and sign in using the email address and password that you submitted with your application.
You may also update and resubmit your application. Our specialists will review your account for compliance with our programme policies, so please make sure that you resolve all of the issues.”
The only reason for rejection was these two fields as far as I can tell (not being present – contents appear to be acceptable when blank – they are just looking for the data
Since I sent the last request sent me an email indicating they are going to manually reviewing this so perhaps I will be able to get Adwords up and running but it might be something to investigate as it has delayed me by a month or so trying to figure it out.
– Note: I am not a tech guru.
Thank you.
Really like the features of Newspaper the effort at your end shows.
Hi,
Yes, there are two warnings, but these just display two optional tags -> https://i.imgur.com/4Q7C0sL.png there should not a problems or issue, here you can see the recommended schema for reviews -> https://webmasters.googleblog.com/2019/09/making-review-rich-results-more-helpful.html
Usually the ads are not displaying when there adsense policies is violated.
Thank you!
Hi,
What you can do is to use another schema like the one provide by Yoast SEO and remove the one from the theme -> https://i.imgur.com/pIOz8UG.pngtherefroe these warnings should be removed.
Thank you!
I swapped the free version of Yoast SEO and no change in the results
The only pages Google has any complaint is when the Review / Rating tool is used that is part of Newspaper. My best guess is that when you use this feature Google looks for “Product” and “Offers: fields. These can be blank but Google still looks for them – perhaps they need to be added?
Google console highlighted the following HTML as where the problem lies.
Looking at it I think the last bit it the problem area.
<span class=”td-page-meta” itemprop=”itemReviewed” itemscope itemtype=”https://schema.org/Product”><meta itemprop=”name ” content = “Review: Out of the Box Encounters by Nerdarchy”><span class=”td-page-meta” itemprop=”brand” itemscope itemtype=”https://schema.org/Organization”><meta itemprop=”name ” content = “Technical RPG”></span><meta itemprop=”description” content = “Out of the Box: Encounters for 5th Edition contains fifty-five adventure scenarios scenarios that any game master and gaming groups will find useful and inspiring at their table. The artwork and cartography complements each scenario and although the layout isn't the best its far from terrible and you will be happy adding this to your collection.”><meta itemprop=”image ” content = “https://technicalrpg.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/08/Out-of-the-Box-Nerdarchy-1.jpg”><meta itemprop=”sku ” content = “review-out-of-the-box-encounters-by-nerdarchy”><meta itemprop=”mpn ” content = “772”><span itemprop=”aggregateRating” itemscope itemtype=”https://schema.org/aggregateRating”><meta itemprop=”ratingValue” content = “4”><meta itemprop=”ratingCount” content = “3”></span></span><span
——-
or basically this bit at the end: <span itemprop=”aggregateRating” itemscope itemtype=”https://schema.org/aggregateRating”><meta itemprop=”ratingValue” content = “4”><meta itemprop=”ratingCount” content = “3”></span></span><span
