It does not seem like the Newspaper theme is compatible with Gravity Forms.
When I activate Twenty Fifteen I can create Gravity Forms but when Newspaper is active it doesn’t work.
Any suggestions on how to make Gravity Forms work on Newspaper theme?
A couple of our pages rely highly on Gravity Forms so chanign to another plugin is not an option.

Unfortunately as the plugin is not tested to work with our theme we have no idea on the plugin functionality. The tested form plugin is contact form 7. Any other form plugin we cannot guarantee to work 100% and we cannot offer plugin implementation support. In a quick search through our forum i see users that have gravity form and use it successfully. You can try to see if there is no conflict with another plugin. You can try to disable all other plugins except visual composer and gravity forum and see if it works. IT seems that Gravity Forms Auto Placeholders plugin is causing problems and we have reports here on the forum of speedbooster causing gravity forms to disappear. Try it out and see how it goes.

As I wrote above Gravity Forms worked with TwentyFifteen but not Newspaper.
But when I disabled OptimizePress it also worked with Newspaper. So there was some plugin conflict between OptimizePress and Gravity Form that occurs when Newspaper is the theme.
Anyway – problem solved!
