Hi mrsky28,
First make sure that you are using last version of Newspaper, v10.3.6.1 and WP 5.5 or 5.5.1
Now In WordPress 5.5 the Gutenberg editor was change not much but it was, now it is look like this -> https://i.imgur.com/hibYL58.png but it can be set like before using the options from settings -> https://i.imgur.com/3HK4Drg.png
To solve the problem with deprecate code you can use the Enable jQuery Migrate Helper.
Let me know the results!

Hi,

The Gutenberg editor is now the default WordPress editor, you can adjust it’s layout using those settings -> https://i.imgur.com/GOYoksX.png and yes this looks different because as I can see in your screenshot this is set on full screen, also this is different from classic editor.
Also this is still not working after you made the made the above steps ? if yes, then make sure that you do not have a plugin conflict with other plugins.

If there is still a problem, you can send us an email at contact@tagdiv.com and provide admin login and cPanel. We will take a look. Include a link to this topic in the email.

Thank you!
