Happy new year !

Thanks to all of you for believing in us and for using our products. It was very hard to get here but In less than a year we manage to make some good progress in the publishing niche and I think in 2014 we will finally deliver the product that we’ve always imagined.

I want to specially thank the community members that got involved here and helped others, we appreciate that a lot and we are still searching for a method to give back more to the community.

This year was a very interesting one and there were a lot of changes and challenges for all of us. We quit our main jobs, we managed to bring a new developer (Radu A.) on board with us and best of all we moved out of my spare room from my home 🙂 … we finally have an office space.

here are our goals for 2014:

– we want to bring another person to help us out on the product support side of things
– we will make all of our products in a more wordpress way (we heard you!)
– we will make a lot of efforts to support the DIY crowd – the code will be written in a way that it will be easier to understand, the documentation will also be aimed at people who want to modify the theme. I’m also learning english to speak on videos
– we will keep the focus on usability. I know on the newspaper theme we didn’t got all the aspects right but expect an update soon (v3)… it will fix most of the usability problems.
– we will keep listening to you and we’ll continue to pay attention to areas where you have problems with our themes – we know this is the most important step to make a great product. We first have to identify the problems before we fix them.
– we will keep doing things our own way. I personally think there is a lot of room for improvements and there is still a lot of work to be done in the publishing niche.
– We want to be a startup that is open and with no hierarchy. We take decisions together.

What are your goals for 2014?

We wish you all the best and may 2014 be the best year!
Marius P., Radu O. and Radu A.

Happy New Year to you also 🙂

My hope is to be a better person for myself and others this year, revitalize my own business which took a bit of a hit the past 2 years due to economy in U.S.

My hope for this particular theme is that you continue to develop and focus on it being a newspaper/magazine theme and not a “one size fits all” theme (e.g., most magazines are not stores, so wasting a ton of time on ecommerce stuff can detract from optimization for magazine and newspaper publishing things which the theme is focused on). I’d love to see a CSS style map of post page elements to make it easy to customize some things using custom.css or append to child theme style.css etc. (e.g., Google now wants to see UX enhancements for mobile and is whining about the breadcrumb, headline, and “categories” buttons above featured photo being too close together so I now need to make the category buttons larger with more space around them so they can be “tappable” … sigh).

You’ve done a great job with this product, and here’s hoping for your continued success!

Chris
