I just realised that I was using a non licenced version of newsmag theme and I have now purchased a licence from themeforest.
Is there a way I can update my current theme (non-licenced) to the new one without disturbing the site and its contents?

You can update the theme only if you have a valid purchased code get from themeforest.
If there are good, then you can use our guide from here to make the theme update -> https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme/
