Help with a possible plugin conflict and errors on some pcs and macs

Hi tagdiv

I’ve been creating a new website for a local newspaper down here in New Zealand. I’m super happy with the result – great theme!

http://www.waihekegulfnews.co.nz/wp/

We are not live yet as we have come across a big problem, and hoping that you may help. Spent thousands on it so far but we cannot go live yet … the issue seems to be a plugin conflict. In addition to having this local news website, we wanted to create a local business directory and for that we chose a plugin on Code Canyon called Sabai Directory – you may have heard of it.

Generally it works well, but on some browsers / certain pcs … and it seems quite random so I am unsure of why, we get errors on the page and the site, smetimes including a 400 Bad request error. It seems a little random.

When I disable all plugins apart from Sabai Directory and Visual Composer (and this is a customised VC that you have put together so I guess the support for it is with you?), on some Macs / pcs the I get serious errors … sometimes just code and no website at all – see the screenshots.

When I disable VC it’s all fine and the directory shows. When I enable VC and disable the directory it’s all fine, but then I don’t have the directory. When I have both

I guess the directory plugin owner will say it’s down to this version of VC, and you may say it’s down to the directory plugin. I’m asking both for support here.

But I’ve put in hours and hours, days of work into this and so hoping that you may please be able to help with any ideas. I have heard that 400 Bad request errors may be something to do with corrupt cookies so will look into that. We have cleared caches repeatedly, as well as browser cache too.

Any help that you could offer PLEASE?

The website may be viewed here:

Look forward to hearing back – Neal

Hi,
Well based on what you wrote us, it’s clear that visual composer will not work together with the Sabai Directory plugin. Unfortunately we have not tested this plugin. The best thing to do is replace one of theme and since our theme elements require visual composer to run, then you will have to find another plugin that is compatible with visual composer. Unfortunately we cannot make any suggestions as we have not tested directory plugins.
This is the best course of action since plugin implementation will require good coding knowledge and hacking of one of these 2 plugins and this is not recommended as upon an update, the code will be lost.
Thank you!

Hi there Bogdan – thank you for your reply … I understand where you are coming from …

But would you be able to at least just spend 2 minutes looking at the screenshots of the error message / code I get on the site when I have both plugins installed?

Also, could this possibly be an issue with the hosting server (its a LiteSpeed server) – the setup and/ or the speed.

One test i did was duplicate the site on another host environment and it worked OK. I do not want to change the theme for sure as it’s a brilliant theme and suits our needs perfectly.

Thanks for any reply …

Neal

Hi,
I have looked at the errors, but you cannot figure anything out from them as one is a 404…nothing to see there and the html code rendered exactly as the page source. It’s clearly conflicting and making the site display the code exactly as it’s written. If I access your site, I get no errors (tried over 10 times in different browsers)
If you say the plugins worked together on a different platform, that could be your clue there. Maybe the hosting has some setting that prevents the compatibility between these 2 plugins.
Here’s what you can try: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ maybe the directories plugin needs a bit more memory for it’s functionality. You can also take a peek at the requirements for that plugin as well to see if there are certain server issues that can affect it.
Thank you!
