Help with Style 8 Category template

Hi,

I have selected “Style 8” category template for one of my categories(For eg : Politics).You can take a look at the site here http://www.newsmug.in/category/politics
However I would like to add a background image for Style 8 category template.How would I do that???

Hello Andy,

In the same place you selected the category style, if you scroll a bit further, you will see the background upload widget: http://screencast.com/t/GUaS5xNuVdUl
Simply select your preferred image and it’s done. Example: http://demo.tagdiv.com/newspaper/category/template-style-8/

I have done this for my categories in the category template section in theme options, but when I want to put a post up with this background, the featured image I choose overrides the background image. If I dont change the featured image, it doesn’t show up on thumbnails. How can I fix this?

Hi,
This is the default behavior of header style 8. It will grab the featured image and set it as a background.Header style 8 is an exception from this rule. You will have to use another post type in order for it to receive the background from the category, or alternatively, add the background as a featured image.
