For a few days now, our website has been experiencing high CPU consumption on the VPS due to certain processes that generate high load on the CPU, such as when the editor processes entries or publications.
In other forums I have seen comments about this same case but they have not provided any solution.

– VPS 4 Core – 8 GbRAM

In my own experience, having too many modules used at same time, too complicated mega menu, and related posts plugin active all cause high load. Not counting normal security stuff like disabling XMLRPC etc. to stop “hits” overloading site or hacking attempts.

Hi jasm90, the first step will be to make sure you have the last theme version, Newspaper v12.6.6 after that you should check the extra plugins you have to make sure it’s not a conflict.
Also, as simchris mentioned if you have many blocks/modules and those also have filters as most popular … those can slow down the site.

Specifically, the problem occurs when the editor publishes an entry and saving it with the Gutenberg wordpress editor immediately causes a load on the CPU. Yes, it is true that it takes a few minutes but it shouldn’t.
The curious thing is that many claim that the newspapers theme plugins consume a lot of resources but I don’t see any solution in the photos nor does anyone refer much to it
