I am getting issue due to following exception due to which processor memory goes very high and hence site becomes unavailable to users.

I am using 1.7.1 version and seeing this issue after recent update to wordpress 4.6 and newsmag 1.7.1

SoftException in Application.cpp:641: Could not execute script admin-ajax.php

SoftException in Application.cpp:641: Could not execute script /index.php”, referer: https://www.google.co.in/

I have very few plugins installed, I saw bit improvement after disabling related post option in newsmag theme.

Switch to newsmag 3 … Or to keep 1.71 you must use the shim plugin workaround that radu came up with … You need to request it.

We just switched all 4 of our sites on 171 to 3.1 and wow, really worth it.

HI

Thanks @Chris for you help!
@beautywarrior I assume that now you’re using an older version of Visual Composer. In the paste some of plugin’s versions had some issues with high CPU usage but now the plugin was optimized and it works better.
As @Chris pointed would be best to update the theme at V 3.1 which is available on theme forest and also update Visual Composer plugin at V 4.12. Please check our documentation for more details in this regard: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-how-to-update-the-theme/
Also make sure that the parameters from system status have the values specified in our documentation: https://forum.tagdiv.com/system-status-parameters-guide/ and your server meets theme’s requirements: https://forum.tagdiv.com/newsmag-requirements-for-newsmag/

Thanks!

In our case there was some weird issue with Visual Composer where processes would go out of control and server CPU would spike from “1” to “70” and eventually crash the box even with dual XEONs and 32GB RAM. There was no server side “tweak” to solve it.

At the time, Radu made a “shim” where we could create layouts with most of the TD modules for our home page, disable VC, then leave the shim on. That worked great the past 15 months or whatever it’s been.

If your server had the same particular mix we had, and running 1.71, and the older version of Visual Composer, you can “try” to build your home page, then DISABLE the plugin and see if the pages still load once the CSS is there.

But really, v 3.1 is awesome and I keep finding little gems, like the ” – advertisement – ” for ad spots, the IDs for categories shown in module drop downs (!), etc. — loving it!

Thanks Chris and Andrei for info.

Anyway I did not had visual composer plugin enabled.
This issue is with theme only.I will use latest theme and check.

Weird. Our issue was totally due to Visual Composer, and not the theme.

Also as a tip for system overloads:

a) disable xmlrpc
b) install the “limit login attempts” plugin.

Friends,

I’m having the same problem, but in this case I’m a Newspaper user.

Since SHIM stopped working with the latest versions of the theme, I have been suffering from overload problems, mainly CPU spikes with an avalanche of requests to the files:

Public_html / wp-admin / admin-ajax.php
Public_html / index.php

This happens suddenly, without leaving clues, everything is unstable for a while and returns to normal.

However, when I disable the Visual Composer plugin, the problem does not occur and the resources remain at normal levels.

I need to make SHIM work again, because with it I have solved this problem for a long time, but without it I become a slave of the VC again and I have faced this problem since the last months of 2016.

I hope you can help me.

Thank you very much.
