WPRocket is a caching plugin that works great with Newspaper, although it’s not officially supported.
If you want to use the new mobile pages feature introduced with Newspaper 10.3.7 just make sure that you have activated the separate cache for mobile devices checkbox in the CACHE tab of WP Rocket. Otherwise mobile users might see the desktop-layout and vice versa.

I started my blog in 2004 and have worked my way through many of the caching plugins over the years.
I ‘discovered’ WPRocket a couple of years ago and I think it’s the best. It works fine with the Newspaper theme and I wouldn’t change it for anything else.

I also tested a lot of caching-plugins, but WPRockt is the best although you have to pay for it.
But it’s very important to check the features, if they really optimize the Newspaper plugin. For example the setting “Optimize CSS delivery” does not work with Newspaper, because in my case it results in layout shifts (CLS).
Hi, I note this plugin on our list to be official tested, now the only problem is that this is not a free plugin and many users can not afforded it, but I think that it can be found more cache plugins that can provide good results for these users.

I am on version 10.2, and if I allowed this feature in WProcket, the site breaks. Is there away to upgrade theme, and how without break-in functionality?

WPRockets recommends not to enable this feature until you have a mobile version of your theme. I had disabled it with versions < V 10.3.7. But it should be enabled with Version 10.3.7 and higher of Newspaper to make sure the devices get their correct versions from the cache also.
