How can i create a custom content mega menu? NOt only oages and cathegories?

The Newspaper theme is not allowing me to use a plugin to build a new custom mega menu. Only with categories and posts but i want a custom mega-menu with rows and columns and custom content.Like in this example http://www.sankyofrontier.com
