How can I remove the /category/ slug on the category pages?

How can I remove the /category/ slug on the category pages?

I installed the Yoast SEO plugin but i cannot find the option to just have mydomain.com/mycategory

right now its mydomain.com/category/mycategory

Hello styzzz,

Unfortunately, our theme does not have any such an option that offers you a way to remove the category base because this is related to WordPress. Far as I know there is an option in Seo Yoast and you can disable from there the category base, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/3GCsuVote Please try to test it and see how it will work or not. Please notice that it may not work for all sites permalink structures. After you have made this setting you should re-save your permalinks, clear all your caches and check the results.

OH DUH. I did not enable “Advanced Settings” in the Yoast plugin, so I didnt have those menu options.

Hello styzzz,

Please ensure that you are using the latest version of Seo Yoast plugin which is 3.7.1 because this version has this option in the panel.

Yes. Its definitely the latest version, because in this version, you have to “enable” advanced options. You didnt have to do that in past versions of Yoast SEO, so I couldn’t find the options. But they are all there now.

You have to “enable Advanced Mode” in Yoast SEO to see the full menu of options.
