How can I reuse elements across multiple domains?

Hello,

We have a multisite WordPress setup with three different domains and each of them has the Newspaper theme installed. Because all of them are under the same branding, we need some parts to be identical between them. Is there any option to export/copy or reuse an element from one website to another? We don’t want to spend time reproducing the same aspect, especially for static parts that are not changing too often.

Thanks!

Hello,

Depends on what elements do you want to import, for example, if you want to import templates, then you need to copy-paste the code => https://i.imgur.com/SSgIAGm.png from a template to a new template.
Also, a workaround there could be to edit the page normally and copy-paste the code: https://www.screencast.com/t/g4JodZMv into a new page on the other website.

Thank you!

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions. This is what we are doing right now, and it doesn’t seem to be a friendly solution because we must strip a lot of unnecessary elements to add one. Could it be possible to add an option to export/import a specific element?

Hello,

If you want you can copy and paste the blocks, also, you can copy the style like in this video https://www.screencast.com/t/Nff7hH6NaNtt

Thank you!

Hi,

I have the latest theme version, but I cannot do that. Your example uses two websites hosted on localhost; I have two websites hosted on the same provider. I don’t think that’s relevant. The sites are using WordPress Multisite, which means it is a single WordPress installation behind, but the tables in the database differ.

If I copy an element from website A, the paste options are not available on website B, but it’s active on website A. The same happens when I try to copy the style from A to B.

Should I activate something first? I’ve used Chrome, as you presented in your example. Are there some limitations that you are aware of?

Thanks,
Alex

Hi,
Unfortunately, the right click will work only for the same website, so using a multisite and trying to copy from website A to website B will not work, for the moment the only solution is to set the blocks in a page and copy that page code in a second website.
There is another solution, but this is only when you start a fresh website, then you can copy the theme panel settings (export/import) and the saved shortcode will be there.
Also, I noted on our list this suggestion for import/export shortcodes.
Thank you!

Hi,

Thank you very much for the prompt reply.
It would be great if you could implement this export/import functionality.

Thank you!
