As the documentation here : https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/ suggests that on breadcrumbs and on the page modules we can display only one category tag.
To set a ‘Primary Category’ to posts we need to select the option from post settings. If we don’t select “primary categories” under post settings , it will automatically take one category based on alphabetical sorting.
But my question is that doesn’t your theme honor the “primary settings” chosen under “Category selection” by WordPress dashboard. To better understand what I am saying, have a look at this screenshot: https://imgur.com/a/lQOfR
You can see that we can select primary categories from here too and this is where I usually select “Primary Category” . Will this selection be displayed at the places wherever Primary categories are needed ? ( Like brood combs , module, blocks etc.)
Also , you must have noticed that even if we don’t select any primary categories here: https://imgur.com/a/lQOfR WordPress automatically mark one of the category as Primary category. Does this happen on alphabetical category sortings ?

In the same guide I have added the “make primary” option as well: http://screencast.com/t/8ddq3npo0hbp It comes for seo yoast, not wordpress and it will not have the same results as the one from the theme.
The primary category is either alphabetical or specific. The setting from seo yoast will not influence the sidebar, category tag or other theme specific elements.
