I use Newspaper with a ready-made Free News template. I have placed ads on the article subpages (I add them via Google AdManager). However, I would like to be able to disable them for some articles. What is the best way to do this?

Hello!
Duplicate the template(Dashboard -> Cloud Templates), change the name, add the changes(in your case delete the ads) and apply it on your special posts manually.
