Hi, i see that a sidebar does appear on my homepage, but my blog posts (which are my news articles) don’t show any sidebar, i especially would like the sidebar to show extra info (like related articles) and an ad (via google adsense), how do i do that?

For the post page you can create and set a sidebar manually for each post

Sidebars can be customized in The Appearance->Widgets section where you can add any widget and content you want to display – https://www.screencast.com/t/YFBWFL9Oyn
If you leave the sidebar setting on default the sidebar will be the one set for the primary category of the post if there is one set – https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/
So by setting a primary category, all the posts from that category will display the sidebar set for that category in the theme panel. Or you can manually set a sidebar for each post, with different content for example.
In sidebars you can use the Ad box widget to display ads

So i checked the tutorial for https://forum.tagdiv.com/primary-category/
but once i go to Newspaper>Theme panel>Post Settings i can’t find the option for primary Category.
There are several option bars:
Post and Custom post types
Default post template
Featured Images
Related article
Sharing
More article box
Ajax View count
Can’t find Primary Article in any of those sections.
Please explain it a little bit more, basically, i would like the same sidebar to appear in all my posts and everytime i post a new article automatically.

Then the post and all the posts that have this category as primary will inherit the sidebar from that category.
For example I set for a post the category Travel as primary

Then by going to the per category settings in the theme panel, I select the sidebar for the Travel category

This allows greater control over the sidebar displayed on the posts, and easily to set and modify the sidebar content, not having to edit each sidebar.

I’ve done what you posted but, does this mean that everytime i post something i have to set a ‘Primary category’ for the post?
After setting a primary category (and customizing a sidebar for my posts) it’s not appearing in my already posted posts, only in the post i set a ‘primary category’, even though my previous posts share the same category.
Sorry if i’m not getting this.
– Basically i have a category called ‘Noticias’, i want every post with that category to have a sidebar.
– I went to a post with that category and did what you showed on the pictures (went to primary category, selected ‘Noticias’ as primary).
– Selected the sidebar i customized previously.
– Updated
– Sidebar is showing *just* on that post
– Every other Post with the category ‘Noticias’ is not being affected
– Do i have to manually add ‘primary category’ to every previous post (there lots of posts already) and do i have to manuall enter ‘primary category’ for each new post for a sidebar to appear?
i hope i can get a speedy response please.

Hi,
The primary category must be set for each created post if you want the post to inherit the sidebar. If you have many posts already, you can leave the setting on default as it should be if no changes have been made in this regard. If the post has only one category assigned, that category is primary by default, so the sidebar will be the one from that category settings. If that category has no sidebar, the last choice is the setting in the theme panel – https://www.screencast.com/t/e3iRdZXmFaQp
So in this case if you have posts that have only the category “Noticias” this will be primary by default. All the posts from this category will have the same set sidebar from the category settings. If the posts have multiple categories the theme will pick the first one alphabetically as primary, unless one is set manually.
