Hi!
I have downloaded a single post template from Cloud Templates and modified it as I wanted. Now I need all posts of a certain category to display with that template, all other categories to stay on default as they were before. But I dont know how to assign that cloud template to wanted category.

Unfortunately you can assign a post template either for one specific post (when editing the post) or for all posts at once ((when editing a post)). You cannot assign a template based on category. Sorry.

Thanks for the answer. Perhaps that would be a cool feature for future development?
Just to check – what would happen to posts where tamplate is assigned on per-post basis if, for instance, somehow template is deleted? Would they all turn back to default template or become broken?

Indeed, we have a few requests in this regard so I will add a +1 and hopefully our development team will consider such an implementation for future versions. I cannot promise anything though but I will raise the suggestion.
If the custom template gets removed, the post will jump to the default template.
