Due to the new EU Regulations (Regulation (EU) 2016/679 General Data Protection Regulation), users must explicitly agree to the storage of their data. The Newspaper theme forces visitors to accept cookies (Google Web Fonts cookies). This is a major problem in terms of data protection. Is there a solution for this? How to block Google Fonts in Newspaper theme? Will it be possible in the future to block Google Fonts in Newspaper Theme?
I love the Newspaper theme, but the theme is bound to Google Web Fonts, therefore it will become a major problem to continue use the Newspaper theme after May 25, 2018 (when the EU Data Protection Regulation becomes effective) and it will even be worse if the EU ePrivacy Regulation will come into force in the future (https://ec.europa.eu/digital-single-market/en/news/proposal-regulation-privacy-and-electronic-communications).
I hope so much, that you are aware of this issue and find a solution, because Newspaper theme is my absolute favorite theme!

If the need arises we will most definitely make the proper implementation in this regard. Until now, users simply activated a notice through a plugin (cookie law) or others opted for customization to remove te google fonts like so:

Thanks, I hope you will implement an option to deactivate Google Fonts. The way it is now, Newspaper theme forces me to install a plugin for cookie notice even if I do not want third party cookies at all on my website in the future.
I am also not sure if a cookie notice is sufficient at all, because the new EU Regulation demands that “visitors actively agree” to the storing of their data.
Forgive me, I don’t want to sound demanding or mess around. This is just, because I see a major issue which has to be solved for this wonderful theme.
I also would understand to pay for such an updated version.
