Hi canged the max_input_varsin .htaccess and it worked fine but after few hours again it went back to the old setting, whats the right method to change max_input_vars permanently.

Hello,
This meas you htaccess gets rewritten by your host or plugins. Your best bet is to contact the host and increase this from the php settings directly, not from htaccess.
