How to change placeholder images

Is the only way to change the placeholder images to overwrite them in the main theme?

If I use either of those options, changes will be overwritten by a theme update wont they?

Hi,

Yes, if you chose to update the theme by uploading theme files via FTP (recommended update method) this changes will be overwritten and you’d have to make them again.

Oh, that’s not terribly user friendly is it!

Could future updates make the placeholder images, or the template which displays them, updateable in a child theme?

Hi,

Unfortunately files you’d have to edit for this aren’t editable via child theme, you can see the files which can be overrided by the child theme here: https://forum.tagdiv.com/child-theme-documentation/
