Hi,

Id like to know how to copy the sidebar that ive created on a page and apply the same sidebar on a post. Also use it as a base template for all the posts.See screen shots below

Here is a screen shot of the sidebar one a particular page of my site.

Am i able to copy the side bar from the page and add it to a post. Id like to use this sidebar as a default for for all the posts.

Thanks,

There is no built-in function in WordPress to do this.

Not really a theme support question, but basic wordpress functionality has no setting to clone sidebars since the sidebar is one thing, and the widgets setup and “assigned” to a sidebar are two totally different things.

You can clone widgets using something like this, to make it easier to copy settings from one sidebar to a new one:

There might be a plugin out there to “Clone” a sidebar, but I’ve not seen one.

Hi,

I suppose that you use Default Sidebar for your page – http://screencast.com/t/uMiY8TKdUO so please set it also for your post from Template Settings – http://screencast.com/t/6H6t1xweLg1
I’m not sure how you add sidebar on your page. Did you use Widgetised Sidebar block? – http://screencast.com/t/SJtMIkPpnIdf You can use this on your page and add widgets into it from Widgets section.

Thanks!
