Hi guys,

Sorry for what is probably a basic question. I tried to find my awnser in the forums but with no success.

I would like to able to reproduce the Newspaper modal pop-up we can activate via an inserted picture through:

– a simple text link (clicking a word in a text and imediately opening an image included in the media db in modal mode)

– a tablepress (external plugin we are using for tables) link (clicking an icon and/or a word and achieving the same result)

I guess the awnser for both objectives it’s just a simple specific html order i whould add to the link but i’m clueless after some research on the web (results featured websites that don’t offer the features Newspaper already does).

Thanks in advance for all the help,

Hello,

Unfortunately your request is not as simple as a bit of html. The modal image was created to work with images not text. It will open only when you click on an image. That is the implementation that was created for it. If you want to change this behavior you will have to hire a freelancer to help out in this regard as there is no easy solution. It has to be hardcoded. This applies for tablepress as well. The theme modal image was not created with this in mind. Sorry

Thank you for your message!

Thank you Bodgan,

… but i did it 🙂 Guess Newspaper is even more powerful than we would realize.
with the proper html setup i was able to make it work, both from a text link or an icon link (clicking a DB stored image in modal mode from clicking both).

Still have to test it inside Tablepress but in what concerns a normal article or page i was able to do it easely just with html.

Thanks for the quick reply anyway, Newspaper rules

cheers,
