Hi,
I want to create a posts page, like a blog for my actuality (it’s different from my homepage)
I created a specific page, but when i go to the WordPress main Settings/reading/posts page and i select the page i’ve made, it doesn’t take my page and impose me a different template (which one ? Where i can found it ?).
So i don’t how to do it, can you help me please ?
Thanks for your help, have a good day,
Aurélien
Hello Aurélien!
Go to Pages -> Add new, set a title, edit it with the TagDiv Composer from Gutenberg: https://prnt.sc/Y9y__bTu479c and there you can add the elements you need from Composer or import a page layout/block/section form here: https://prnt.sc/3NmJ02vABptc
Thank you!
Hi,
This is what i did !
But when i select this page from Settings/reading/posts page, the page is not mine, but a template i don’t understand where it comes from.
Is there anything to do with “Template setting/blog and posts template” ?
Because i read :
All the settings form this box apply for index.php – the default blog index (the page where all the posts are listed one after another)
The sidebar position and the default sidebar are also applied for the single templates (single.php)
Just a tip – when you set a sidebar position or another sidebar while editing a post, that one will overwrite the one you set here.
And i have no choice to select my own template.
Thanks again
Hello Aurélien!
You shouldn’t select any page and let the settings like this: https://prnt.sc/5DM2fjWYuJvZ
Thank you!
You should create a “Blog/Post page” on the Cloud Templates page, just like any homepage or single post template 🙂
Ok great, thank you very much !!
So it’s just a direct link, it makes sens, WordPress confused me 🙂
Thanks again and keep the great job
Aurélien
