How to create own template for category pages?

Hi

I have looked at the various option to show on the category pages using the modules, but I would like to create my own template, so that I can have various modules with my category pages.

I would like to have say, module 2 to show 6 “latest articles” and then module 4 to show 10 “other Articles”

Where are the various parts that I need to change to achieve this

Or how do I add widgets so that I can add any page elements to category.php
