I don’t quite understand the problem you are referring to, some more details and screenshots, or a link to the website where I can see the problem would be very helpful.
If you are referring to have some smart list like Thumbel Slider
https://www.screencast.com/t/kkCZ5k1H1f , then you;ll need to use a plugin, because our theme do not have this option.

In revolution slider i have post based slider can be add title to small thumbnails also.
