How to disable image attachment pages

How do I disable image attachment pages without installing the “Attachment Pages Redirect” plugin.

Using the Yoast SEO settings (as described here ) to do this doesn’t work for me.

Any clue on how I can get this done in the Newspaper theme?

Hi,

The Yoast SEO setting will work for images that are attached to posts, please see this guide from Yoast
– https://kb.yoast.com/kb/redirect-image-attachment-urls/
There are many guides and methods online to redirect or maybe even disable attachment pages, if this is required for you.
There is a child theme provided in the theme package, you can use that to customize the theme

Note the theme also has custom code sections in the theme panel, for minor theme customization.

I fixed this by using the Newspaper-child theme where I created an attchment.php file and then put in code to redirect to homepage.
