After installing the new version of Newspaper theme the mobile view changed to something i don’t want. now it shows categories when scroll horizontally. I want to disable horizontal scrolling and keep the old mobile view. Because new view Distracts mobile visitor when scrolling in curved gesture. I removed mobile theme plugin but it didn’t solve the problem

If you want to get rid this feature, please try to deactivate the mobile theme plugin for your panel, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/kuMoNdzw and then you will have the default theme behaviour on mobile, by now.

I have tested your website and I saw that you are using the RTL mode. Unfortunately, our theme has not been designed to be used in this mode and as you can see, might be appeared a lot of unknown issues. Please try to revert the theme options to the default one, without untested plugins and check the results. Also, if your problem is still there, please try to make a clean install from scratch via FTP with default theme settings and see how it works.

I did that and also deleted theme and mobile plugin settings from database. after that i did a clean install and the issue still exists. this issue didn’t appear in the old version of the theme. I don’t think it’s because of the RTL content.
Update: the issue appears on desktop browser too (firefox, edge and chrome)

Guess there is no solution for this issue right now. I did a downgrade to v6.7 and the issue disappeared. I hope it won’t exist in v7.1

Usually, these problems appear if you are having the cache. Please try to clear all your caches, purge the CDN file if you are using the CDN and also, if you have the cache on your server, please try to clear all. Also, if you do not have access to clear the cache for your server, please contact the hosting provider and they should solve this problem.
P.S We had this problem and have solved with these tips.

I did more than that. I deleted the entire content of public_html folder and deleted the MySQL database. Then I created a new database and news user. Performed a clean WordPress installation. Installed Newspaper 7.1 and the issue still exists!
I just changed the site language to English in WordPress settings and the issue disappeared. What Does this mean?

It is a little bit strange this. Please ensure that you have cleared all your caches and test it again. Basically, it is no link between the changing language to English in WordPress and the Mobile theme, though.

To clear things up I installed WordPress on different host then installed newspaper 7.1 without any plugins. the same issue appeared and once I changed language to English the issue disappeared. I was wrong when described the issue. It is an empty space with the same width of the page and appears on the left of the page on mobile and desktop browsers.

Yes issue still there. Try your self http://kapten110.96.lt/ this is a new website on new host i created it just to be sure that problem isn’t related to my server or cache. If you have WordPress site just change the language to Arabic “which is RTL” and see the result. It’s not the only issue that is related to RTL site language. All sliders displays white spaces instead of images and post style 8 doesn’t show featured image on mobile device.

Please notice that our theme has not been designed to be used in RTL mode but only LTR. Also, please keep in mind that the RTL is not covered by our support. I have tested on my side and I can recreate this issue with some Arabic languageā¦try to disable your RTL and see that this problem disappears. If you want to adjust our theme with this kind of language support, please consider hiring a freelancer/developer to implement this functionality for you in our theme because it is not a simple task and requires custom work and we cannot provide custom services at the moment, sorry!
