How to eliminate space between header and header menu – Amsonia pre-build

Hi All,

I was wondering how to remove the space between the header logo image and the header menu bar. It seems there is always some white space padding there (maybe 30px?) no matter what I do.

Any ideas. I am using a square bordered image for my logo that would look better if it was flush against the header menu bar.

Thanks!

Hi,

That should be possible. Are you using a cloud header template or a standard header template? Please provide a link to the website if possible, so I can check the header.

Thank you!

Thanks for your reply.

I’m using a Cloud header template called Amsonia.

Hi,

So this space here https://i.imgur.com/5C2coQ0.png

There’s a padding bottom set for the row here https://i.imgur.com/3ogr8k3.png
If that is removed -> https://i.imgur.com/3FgFyWG.png

I believe that is what you want, please try it. Let me know if I can help with something else.

Thank you!

Thank you for your reply.

However, there are no numbers at all (i.e. 20) in the padding in my version. All the boxes are blank with only hyphens. So it is not possible to remove the 20 px padding.

Unless somehow we can introduce a negative padding…? I don’t know.

Hello @christopherkevil8838!

There should be 20px on the row. Make sure you click on exactly that row.

Thank you!

YES! It worked. Thank you both, Bettina and Simion C. I made a mistake by not clicking the “row” and instead clicking on “element”. Sorry, but I’m stupid sometimes. 🙂

If I can ask another question: how can I eliminate the empty space on the left margin of the header. I didn’t want the date widget so I have deleted it. But now there is a empty space there that doesn’t look good. I would like my logo image to closer to the left margin in the header. Any ideas?

Thanks again.

Thanks for the video but it is hard to follow without sound. I don’t know how to move the header logo to the left hand margin.

Hello @christopherkevil8838!

You can pause the video and try to follow it. You need to access the column by clicking on it, set it vertically aligned, split the row into 2 columns, and then you can align the element from its settings.

Thank you!

Thank you, Bettina! I did manage to move the header logo element to the left margin.

However, there is still a 20 px padding between the logo and the left margin that I can’t remove. Also, I the 20 px padding between the bottom of the logo and the menu header has returned. So weird! I followed Simion C. and your instructions to remove it but incredibly, it came back.

OK thanks. But I’m a bit reluctant to share my credentials right now. Is it possible to share some screenshots of my site and tagDiv settings?

Hello @christopherkevil8838!

Please provide a video, so I can understand what you’re trying to achieve and why it is not working for you and help you efficiently.

A solution for sending a screenshot/video is this:
Download, capture, send: https://www.techsmith.com/jing-tool.html
After making the screenshot, you will have a link, paste it here.

Thank you!

Thanks. Looks good.

However, I think I’ve figured it out. Because there was a small space at the left margin next to the logo icon, I inserted a padding space of -24 and that eliminated the space. I also followed your original advice on removing the 20 px padding at the top and bottom of the header logo. So now the header logo is flush with the header menu. I will send along a screenshot to your email so you can see it.

But I wonder if it is Ok for a padding value to be negative. Will this be a problem?

Hello @christopherkevil8838!

A negative margin shouldn’t be a problem.

Thank you!
