Hi

To increase the post width you need a lot of customization, you need to change the theme’s grid and for that you need to increase the others elements width’s, (header, footer) as the layout to maintain the same look. That involve custom work and unfortunately we cannot offer it as we work hard on the development, updates, fixes and support. You can always look for a freelancer from sites like: http://studio.envato.com/ to do it for you.

Thanks!

Well, it’s a complex theme with modules, images, inserts, etc., designed for a “grid” — you cannot simply change one area of grid without also changing everything else. In theory you could change the template to more “columns” of the grid for post area, but then you’d run into issues with some items using sidebar unless you planned that carefully and/or changed all the modules you want to use in sidebar; image would not “fill the space” nor would things at bottom of page like comments or related posts, etc.

If you are familiar with Bootstrap, Foundation, 960, or other grid systems, they all work in this way. If you want to make 7/10 into 8/10 then right side becomes more narrow, and some elements designed to fit 7/10 won’t fit in 8/10 and might even break it due to offsets, padding, etc. Look at the CSS to see how it works. If none of that makes sense then you would likely not be able to tackle this yourself.

You can use the “full width” post layout and customize that.

You can also look at the TagDiv “Newspaper 6” theme which has many of the same features as Newsmag, but WIDER layout for the post area.
