After updating to 10.4 in a test environment a number of errors occurred. For example, TD Composer was no longer working and messing up all pages with shortcodes.
I did some testing and found out that the problem seems to be the theme’s internal update process. Following the instructions for manual update given here: https://tagdiv.com/update-newspaper-theme everything works fine. It looks like the update routine is not deleting or replacing all the files.
If you are facing issues try this:
- Delete all files from theme folder (wp-content/themes/Newspaper/) via ftp or cpanel.
- Download Installable WordPress Theme from envato
- Unzip and upload the new files to theme folder via ftp or cpanel
- Login to theme panel and update and activate the required plugins
- Clear Cache

I always manually update which have not given me any problems in the past, same for version 10.4 which seems to cause so many problems while I didn’t have any issue at all.

I tried to update all manually as describet ( I thing better thing),
but this time, for first time, at the end of process I had a blank page with a wordpress notice “fatal error, see how to do debug…” o something like that..
I come back via ftp and with backup site goes back to work..
According to you why this thing happended?
