Hi,
I’ve set up the theme, but instead of social media icons/images (Facebook, Twitter, etc.) on the top right corner and the bottom left corner Japanese letters are being displayed.
Also, Search Icon (magnifying glass) isn’t displayed correctly. There will probably be a few other similar things, I’m still going through this.
Can you please advise how to fix this? Thank you.

Yeah, it looks like multiple icons aren’t being displayed correctly.
In addition to the above, also:
1. Breadcrumbs forward arrow icons aren’t displayed properly.
2. Icon on “More stories” doesn’t work either – Japanese displayed
Probably more icons do not work… I can’t figure out if there’s a setting that will change this. There’s nothing in the documentation.

Please note that I have followed the advice given here – https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/mising-icon-star-rating-showing-chinese-write-up/#post-33232 – but it doesn’t work. All 3 browsers on multiple PCs are still displayed Chinese/Japanese whatever it is.

Tried with the following browsers: Chrome, Firefox, IE. All display the same.
I can see all the icons on your demo site. And this is the first time I’m ever experiencing anything like that, I’ve never had a similar problem with any other site online, or any themes, not only mine. Definitely something wrong in the theme.
More update: this is also NOT a unique situation specific just to my machine. GTMetrix, Pingdom, Google’s Page Insights and other testing tools are also not displaying the icons.

It usually happens when loading the font file (which contains those icons) from another host/url. Check your browser’s console if you have an error like this – http://screencast.com/t/fKy2k43k9kc

I have just checked the Console error.
Apparently it says that file is not found.
Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 404 (Not Found)

But I have checked that the file is in that folder.
Could be the number ‘6’ at the end causing the problem?
I found the problem.
I have to place icon folder in the child theme as well.
Didn’t know that. Perhaps you guys may need to put that in your documentation.
Just one more question.
The default search icon is white for dark background.
How do I change it to using black over a light background?

the site is configured to load via http://www.hayom.org.il but the server is configured to redirect www to non www domain hayom.org.il
