In posts form taxonomies I have categories and sub-categories. a person can select multiple times and submit the article.
On a search page – access to all visitors – I use Flex Loop Filters. each taxonomy slug is set to dropdown Multiple select.
When someone choose category taxonomy the result is shown instant with the Flex Loop Builder.
Only when a category taxonomy has sub-category taxonomies, the shown results are not correct.
I expect when the category is chosen, all sub-categories will show up – along side the category – in the result section.
What I get is different. All results with the taxonomy category do show.
Results that only have a subcategory taxonomy will not show.
Results with a subcategory must have the category linked to them as well.
This goes against the principle of hierarchical structure, which implies this category and subcategory structure and why it is done in the first place.
What am I overlooking, what changes need to be done to get this to work??

hope these 3 images will illustrate what is not working and help to find a solution or fix.
I expect to see something like in this example from tagDiv:

As the first screenshot shows all images are the same, but under each image is a different subcategory-name listed
The image is not representing any subcategory, but instead the main category.
When removing that image from the main category, no image is showing in the element subcategories.

I’m not sure which version of the theme you are using now, but in the latest theme update, there is a known bug with this shortcode, and I hope we can fix it in the next update.

Sorry, forgot to mention the theme version. It is 12.6.9
With other words, nothing can be done to fix it, because it is a bug.
Is that correct?
For now I can deactivate the image display in the theme template.
