I installed WordPress social login plugin on my WordPress site. When I click “sign in” button on top menu, it doesn’t show the social login icons. It shows popup only asking for username and password.
Could anybody help me with how to put social icons in this signin link provided by Newspaper theme.

Unfortunately the plugin is not tested so we cannot say for sure if it will work with our theme or not. Unfortunately this is the case with all premium themes. You will have to test the plugin out with a bit of trial and error and check the settings to see if you set it up properly (these plugins usually require app keys from the social networks in order to link your website to them).

There are social plugins we have seen that work with our theme. We cannot make any suggestions but we saw them in action. Maybe the plugins used requires further implementation but it can be done. Unfortunately we cannot provide any custom work or plugin implementation support. (I think people were using ‘userpro’ but I’m not sure)
I will add this feature request to our list and in a future version maybe we can provide a solution for it although it does not represent a priority at the moment so I cannot promise anything.

I would suggest to make this as high priority. Social login is very essential in today’s world. I do not see a site which does not provide social login support.
And here, I am stuck without social login because I am using Newspaper 6 theme which decided that social login is on their lower priority.
Or at least, you need to give some workaround to disable your login box and let default WordPress login work which would hopefully work with social login plugins (just some wild idea, may be you can think of better idea).
Note: For the time being, I am even fine with paying for UserPro, but how do I know whether it will work. It does not work, then my money is wasted.

Unfortunately we cannot provide a solution for this. You will have to search for a plugin that works as we have not tested any social login plugins with our theme. Nobody said none of them work though.
