I found the opportunity to embed images. But how to insert pdf so that a visitor can directly flip through a page of a pdf file or presentation on the page or post?
Probably need to find some kind of plugin for that, or use one of the Adobe tools to export to a flip-board type element; then load on your site, then place link to the file in your post/page.
Neither WP or the theme have anything like that built-in.
I do not want to use third-party plug-ins. It is a pity that the theme does not have its own functionality.

I’ve never seen a WordPress theme with ‘built-in’ PDF -> flipboard/flipbook style features. WordPress has no such support built-in. This can only be done with third party plugin as you need a whole bunch of code to build thumbs from the PDF, then ajax to ‘flip pages’ (aka a flipboard).
