Hi, i want to customize and make the theme for my site but don’t want the users to see it before its done.
How can i activate the theme but only for me to use it and use another theme for regular visors. Its not good idea to stop the site for me to activate the theme and start working on it in production, please tell me how to do that.

The way you can achieve this is by creating a subdomain.

You can also find a plugin for maintenance. Something like https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-maintenance-mode/

Thanks for the info, sounds like a tough job for non-programmer like me 🙂 but i will try.
It’s also a good idea to go to your WordPress SETTINGS menu, scroll down to bottom and select “Search engine Visibility, check the box to turn on “Discourage…Indexing.” THis will prevent search engine robots from indexing your site while it is under development!
