Is there any options to make single posts not be shown in the biggrid. Fx if the post has no decent picture.
What I usually do is use a “featured” category to control what goes in the big grid (at least for home page), so that a news item with a logo, for example, doesn’t become the big picture. And then I can control which “nice” images make the front page more attractive. So, book covers or whatever except the one which is all text on a white background (YUCK!).
For the category tops, I’m not sure if that is controllable or not, actually. I would presume the logic would be “use featured if exists,” use latest if not; but I think the category toppers use just latest items by default.

@Frydenborg There is no option on a post to include it or not to the big grid query. You can try Chris’s suggestion and use a category to control the big grid posts or you can also use a specific tag by which you can filter the posts that show in the grid. For ex all posts that have the tag “big or grid” appear in the grid so you just need to set the tag to the post you want.

Your suggestion with a “featured tag” might be better if you also use the “popular categories block” and you do not want “featured” to show as one of the popular categories.
@ChrisS Any plan to have a “show in grid option” as I have seen in other themes?
