You need to set the excerpt on the letters from Theme Panel -> Excerpts => https://www.screencast.com/t/EROolW6hTSk0 and after you can set to the title length and excerpt length https://www.screencast.com/t/seKSculAUJa, unfortunately, this is the only way.
