In the Theme Panel, in the Post settings, I didn’t find a setting for changing the color of links to other web pages. Could you please tell me where I can find the relevant setting.
Another thing related to weblinks.
In the previous version of the Newspaper theme (I’m using Newspaper 6 now), I did not have to tick “Open link in new tab” every time I added a weblink. My setting was “remembered” once I had made it.
It gets tiring to have to open the link settings dialog every time to just tick the “Open link in new tab” setting.
This is a setting that we use for all our weblinks in posts. Isn’t there any way to make the setting permanent (until changed)?

The color of all the links are handled by the theme accent color from the theme panel: http://screencast.com/t/uaRyPyZVJt
Unfortunately for the links there is no such option. You cna maybe try a plugin such as https://wordpress.org/plugins/open-external-links-in-a-new-window/ but it;s not tested so i cannot guarantee it;s functionality

Ok – thanks for the answer and suggestion. The ability to separately modify link color could be a future development idea.
But what about the need to check the “Open link in new tab” option separately for each and every link?
As I mentioned, this appears to be a setback from the previous version. Could it even be a bug?

It is not a bug as if it was it would have been resolved by now. It is just the way wordpress handles links. Try to switch to a wp default theme like twenty sixteen and see if the open in anew tab remains saved. It is a wordpress setting not a theme setting.
