This is seriously distracting and not something I want distracting me from my work in the backend.
Please inform how to remove?

Yes, I’d also like to know how to remove that unwanted and unrequested advertising box.

Go to Newspaper, System Status, the first box will have Theme Config, last option is, tagDiv advertisement, click the box to turn it off.
Took me some time to find it. All is good now.
