How to remove duplicate content menu links

Hi,

first of all great theme!

When checking the sites through SEO tools it appears that in the source code all menu links are present twice: 1x for the regular menu and 1x for the mobile menu. It is not necessary to load the mobile menu code if the site is visited from a desktop PC and the regular menu does not need to be loaded if the site is visited on a smart phone. From a SEO perspective the current codes is causing duplicate content.

How can I solve this by eg. triggering the relevant menu based on the breakpoints. As I am not a coder I would highly appreciate if you can guide me through.

Hi,

The theme uses two menus one for desktop and tablets and one for mobiles that’s why it has to menus and one hidden, we had do it like this to make some features available.
Search engines wont penalize you for this as those are internal link, you can find more details on this in this tread: https://forum.tagdiv.com/topic/huge-mistake/

As long as you have proper canonical link tags in your meta data, and are using proper xml sitemaps, its not duplicate content.

Its like having menu on top and menu at bottom of page… You are not penalized for having two menus.

You can also use googles fetch tool to see what they see vis a vis the actual rendered page and not data that swaps based on viewport.
