Is there a way to remove these elements (Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Archives, Categories, Comments, Meta) from the default sidebar, or pick the ones that you want to display there?
I’m just starting off and I don’t need these categories. Plus they look clunky and take up like a third of the page. Thank you!

Do you are referring to these Widgets -> http://screencast.com/t/d8lwPgZBV1MV, right? Please notice that you should check your Widgets area from the panel and from Newspaper Default Sidebar you should remove these, like this -> http://screencast.com/t/ywJIPPsAjXdt
