How to remove references to the demo-content?

Hi there.

I own the newspaper-theme and i would like to start my project with one of the included “demo-styles” like “lifestyle magazine” or “say what?”. But i want to modity the styles to fit my needs and rename the “demo” to my very own name and remove all references to the name “demo”. When i just install the demo within the theme-backend i will always find lines like “what/demo_style.css?ver=8.X’ in my sites sourcecode. Bit i want to remove the word “demo” and change the name of the style.

Any ideas? Best, Dan

Hello,

Sorry but that is the name we added to the theme files for each demo: https://www.screencast.com/t/wERlgVXlD2B
Changing the file names will also involve changing them across everywhere in the theme code where they are referenced and that will be no easy task. Here is just a quick search through the theme code for the word “demo”

Thanks.

And is it possible to copy a demo-folder and rename it to my own style? I just want to use a kind of “style-copy” and modify it…i don’t need the content to be copied.

Hi,

You can copy the demo files and folders and rename them, they are all provided for each demo in the demos folder of the theme. The demo pages, theme panel settings, custom stylesheet that will be imported when the demo is installed.

But renaming it or making modifications could cause problems, I can’t say for sure. There is no documentation for this, or similar topics in the forum.

Note that the recommended method is to install the demo through the install demos option in the theme. The process will automatically import the necessary demo data. Then you could customize it carefully.
